THE UNIVERSITY RECOGNIZES THE VALUE AND IMPORTANCE OF RECORDS AS KEY TO:

  • Aiding in provision of quality university education and training
  • Preservation of the memory of the University
  • Meeting regulatory and statutory obligations
  • Being accountable in all decisions and actions taken

STRATEGIES USED IN RECORDS MANAGEMENT.

In order to meet the objectives of records management, the University Management has:

  • Developed two procedures for management of documents and records (QMS)
  • Approved records management plan (2009 – 2013)
  • Directed that records management systems and procedures be reviewed
  • Directed that proper housing for records be identified
  • That divisions and colleges to procure appropriate and modern records storage equipment
  • Embarked on serious in-house training for registry personnel
