Strategic plan

Central Administration Units on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 sensitized its members of staff in the planning, development and implementation of 2018/2023 strategic plan. 

 The strategic plan is essential in an organization in that it lays the foundation for the development of the University’s priorities for a five-year period. It guides the organization in enhancing its performance and service delivery, stimulating strategic thinking, providing a basis for resource mobilization and allocation as well as contributing to the attainment of the Kenya vision 2030 goals and aspirations.

The University of Nairobi prepared its first strategic plan in the year 2005 to cover the duration of 5 years up to 2010.   In keeping with good management practices and to refocus on strategies, the strategic plan to cover the period of 2008 to 2013. This plan was reviewed again in 2010 to respond to the emerging challenges and opportunities.  In April 2013 the university prepared the current 2013/2018 strategic plan which expires in June 2018. Now the university has embarked on the process of developing the strategic plan 2018/2013. The steering committee is in place and each member will be involved at all levels.
