SRC/PWC JOB EVALUATION

The SRC/PWC launched the job evaluation exercise at the University on February 13, 2017. The opening/ kick-off meeting was attended by SRC Commissioners, PWC Consultants, University Executive Board Members, Central Administration Heads of Departments and Director SWA. The training of Job Analyst Teams was done on February 14, 2017 and February 15, 2017.

The SRC appointed PWC Lead Consultants undertook the job analysis exercise in the University between February 13, 2017 and March 17, 2017. The job description manuals were developed by the Consultants and have since been signed off by the Heads of Departments and institutional letter of satisfaction signed by the Vice Chancellor and forwarded to PWC Consultants for use.

Subsequent to the official invitation by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), representatives from the University attended a stakeholder sensitization on Job Evaluation Exercise in the Public Universities on February 2, 2017 at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies.

The Commission is undertaking the Job Evaluation Exercise for all jobs in the Public Universities to determine the relative worth of the jobs, harmonize the job-grading structure and produce a salary survey for a harmonized pay structure;

The Job Analysts were drawn from all departments as change and communication agents.

The Commission has now embarked on the next phase of Job Evaluation using the information in the job description manuals for all jobs in the Public Universities using the REMeasure System to determine the relative worth of the jobs, harmonize the job-grading structure and produce a salary survey for a harmonized pay structure.
