Administration department signs 2016/2017 performance Contract

The University of Nairobi Top Management, College Principals, Directors, and other section heads signed a performance contract with the University’s Council.

The signing of the performance contract for the period 2016/2017 was officiated by the Council Chairperson (ag.), Mrs. Pascalia Koske, she informed the participants that the performance contracted had been negotiated as per the requirement of the Public Service for all the Universities and  aligned to the vision 2030 and that it meets the International best practice.  That the university has been performing very well in the past years and urged the members concerned to maintain that excellence performance.  She informed the members that after the signing the exercise has to be implemented and passed on to all departments and sections of the university to begin working on the indicators provided therein.

Prof. Peter Mbithi the Vice-Chancellor, of the university commended the members of staff in their past performance in the performance contract and other projects of the university that they have been excelling all through.  He had no doubt that the members of staff will continue working smart in all  endeavors and maintain the international standards of being a world class university committed to scholarly excellence. He added that in this performance contract innovation, technology and science has been given more highlight and the university has been working well focusing on these areas of innovation and web matrix ranking globally.  He reminded the participants that as it has been the norm of public service on procurement, the emphasis is still more on the purchase of local good and services provided by the youth, women and persons with disabilities.  At the ceremony photos were taken as the signing process was going on.
