Mandera County is one of the 47 counties in Kenya, located in the North Eastern part of Kenya and borders Ethiopia to the North, Somalia Republic to the East and Wajir County to the South. It is about 1,100km from the capital city of Nairobi by road

    • To position Mandera as the fruit producing county of Kenya
    • To transform the livestock sector from a way of life to competitive economic activity that will transform the lives of our pastoral communities
    • To achieve a good state of water security in Mandera by 2017
    • To ensure  efficient and economical provision  of water and sanitation services, increase environmental conservation, appropriately utilize  natural resources  and improve access to affordable and environmentally friendly sources of energy
    • To achieve fair state of food security in the county.
    • To improve the livelihood of the people of Mandera county by promoting competitive farming practices through appropriate policy framework.
    • To create an enabling environment for agricultural development, increase productivity, promote market access, avail affordable farm inputs, increase value addition and affordable sharia compliant financing.
