Training

The University is fully committed to a structured and systematic training and development of all its employees on an ongoing needs basis to enable them perform their duties effectively and efficiently.

The Section facilitates all corporate training emanating from staff and organizational needs, performance contract targets and any other training that management deems necessary from time to time.

ISO
The University of Nairobi has an unwavering commitment to quality teaching and learning, research and scholarship, consultancy and community/ outreach service, good governance and management. To achieve these objectives, University management has endeavoured to streamline its QMS in order to deliver educational services that can be benchmarked against international standards. The University has put mechanisms in place to engineer effective systems, which will go beyond short term problem solving techniques. Quality educational service will be part of the University of Nairobi orientation. We have embraced change and all staff in the University are expected to learn to become responsive, anticipate and plan for change. We have to turn the University around and prepare it to face increased competition because we no longer enjoy monopoly.
ISO 9001:2008 is our guiding standard, yet not a new phenomenon. All organizations strive to provide quality goods and services but the techniques and approach vary from one organization to another. The University will put more emphasis on implementation of plans, review changes and also focus on quality service provision to our customers and stakeholders.
The University’s quest is to achieve excellence while recognizing that quality is a corporate issue that determines the success or failure of an organization. Quality starts with every one of us and it is our collective responsibility to achieve it. Therefore, let us together create an environment where processes do not stifle our efforts, efficiency and effectiveness in the pursuit of our goals.
